Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Trainee Patent Attorney. This is an exciting opportunity for a new entrant to the profession or a part-qualified attorney to embark on a rewarding career in intellectual property and patent law. As a Trainee Patent Attorney, you will receive comprehensive training and support to achieve both UK and European qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches.
  • Draft and file patent applications under the supervision of qualified attorneys.
  • Engage in client meetings to discuss and understand their inventions and innovations.
  • Provide technical and legal support during patent examinations and oppositions.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in intellectual property law and engineering technologies.

Requirements:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related fields).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in intellectual property law and a commitment to professional development.
